Carpet Cleaning
unique
- adjective
- existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary
in type or characteristics
- having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable
- limited in occurrence to a given class, situation, or area
- limited to a single outcome or result; without alternative
possibilities
- not typical; unusual
- noun
- the embodiment of unique characteristics; the only specimen of a
given kind
Unique is not usually a word easily associated with carpet cleaning
since 95% of carpet cleaning businesses offer one of two cleaning
methods: ChemDry's cleaning method or Steam Cleaning (hot
water extraction). We at Tonys Best Way use neither
the Chem-Dry® cleaning method nor hot water extraction, which is
why we are unique. We have developed the revolutionary cleaning
method
from a
third already outstanding method.
See how it works in our all new carpet cleaning video animation demonstration!

- Custom-mixed pre-cleaning solution
- Hot dry foam extraction
- Continuous forward-propelling dense-bristle brush
- Hypo-oxygen sanitizer
Preparation:
1. Furnishing Care
The first task performed when our technician arrives at a job is to
carefully move any furnishings or items in order to clean under
them.
2. Vacuum/Sweep
Once the area is clean the technician will proceed by vacuuming and
or sweeping any loose soil present as needed.
3. Custom Mix Cleaning Solution
Our unique cleaning solutions are custom mixed onsite according to
the specific needs of the area being cleaned. It softens soil and
actually dissolves soil-attracting sugar and oil particles which
are found in all soiled carpets. The cleaning solution is applied
by hand-spraying.
4. Agitation
Once the custom mixed solution has been sprayed onto the carpet it
is agitated as needed in order to further loosen soil, oil and
sugar bonds in preparation for the full cleaning.
Dry Foam Soil Extraction:
The results of a
cleaning far surpass the results you can expect from both
Chem-Dry® and steam-cleaning. A small amount of hot water and
cleaning solution is inserted into our cleaning machine, which
generates hot, dry foam and applies it to the carpet. A
continuously forward-propelling dense-bristle brush follows the
foam and pushes it to the base of the carpet so that it covers the
length of the fibers and then lifts the foam, now containing all
the soil, sugar and oil left behind by common spills and use, back
out where it is removed by the suction of the machine. When the
sugars and oils are not completely removed, like in Chem-Dry® and
steam cleaning, they will continue to attract soil allowing
existing stains to return quickly. The foam is gentle on the carpet
but powerfully collects sugar, oil and soil in the
fibers This low moisture method, unlike steam-cleaning, eliminates
the need for your carpet to be soaked to the pad, which causes the
need for an extended drying period and leaves large amounts of
chemical residue. Unlike the Chem-Dry® method, the foam works on
all levels of the carpet removing the soil from the bottom up
instead of forcing the topsoil down, which is stirred back to the
top after a few weeks of normal wear.
More Than Just Clean:
The results of our revolutionary method, Health+Clean, are not
only visible to the naked eye but have a positive effect on your
overall health. According to Dr. Edward Kenny of the York Research
Laboratory, carpets and rugs test approximately 20 times more
soiled than the average city sidewalk. In addition to our hot, dry
foam being a great cleaner it is also an amazing Hypo-oxygen
sanitizer removing dust mites, dander, allergens and germs during
the cleaning process. Our sanitizer is also non-toxic and
biodegradable. A truly cleaned and sanitized floor means your
environment will be a better place for optimum health.

PRE CLEANING GUIDELINES
You need not vacuum your carpet or move furniture in
preparation for cleaning; we will do that for you.
However we do recommend that you:
1) If possible, remove breakable display pieces and valuables from
rooms to be cleaned
2) If possible, clear floors of books, boxes, shoes, etc. If this
is difficult, we will be happy to do it for you, however please
note that we will not be able to replace these items on damp
carpeting or area rugs.
3) As much as possible, plan to keep pets and children off floors
for the duration of the cleaning and drying process
POST CLEANING GUIDELINES
Please observe the following while your carpets/rugs are
still damp:
1) Plan to have a nice dinner on the town. (Request your
complementary $50 gift certificate when Tonys Best Way cleans
the entire carpeting in your home)
2) Minimize use of the carpeted areas as much as possible. You may
walk, with clean shoes or white socks, along the edge of your
carpet right away. In addition, we will leave disposable booties
for this purpose.
3) Take caution and avoid slipping on hard surfaced flooring
surrounding the damp carpet.
4) Place a large towel at the entryways and encourage everyone to
wipe their feet in order to avoid soiling the carpet while it is
damp and more susceptible to absorbing dirt.
5) Do not remove furnishing guards or replace chairs and small
items for at least 24 hours. Doing so could cause permanent
furniture stains on your carpet.
6) Open doors and windows as much as possible to increase air
circulation for faster drying.
7) Areas that were more heavily soiled will take longer to dry.
Avoid usage of those areas as much as possible.
8) You will receive our Spot Remover at no extra cost to treat any
stains you may get on your carpet after cleaning. Click here to see
how you can get free refills.
9) Tony: I want YOUR carpet, rugs and upholstery to be clean,
fresh and healthy for a long time. Anything less is unacceptable.
In the unlikely event that a spot returns within two weeks give us
a call. We want you to be pleased. In fact, we want you to be so
pleased that you will become one of our cheerleaders and recommend
us to your family, friends and neighbors. We will try to do
anything reasonable we can to achieve that end.

Carpet Cleaning Extended Information
Could you tell me more about your uncommon carpet cleaning method?
Tonys Best Way Rep:
Sure! Let me start with a little story that shows Tonys Best Way
really uses an very unusual process in the industry. Today I was on
a different carpet cleaners website and I found an interesting
comment regarding carpet cleaning methods: "You [the customer],
the website said, can choose from two primary methods: dry
cleaning or hot water extraction."
I do not disagree. Honestly, when you pick up the Yellow Pages or
Google "carpet cleaning" youll find that one or the other of
these two methods are used by approximately 95% of all San Diego
carpet cleaners. However, Tonys Best Way is an exception as we
choose not to not use either method.
Tony's Best Way utilizes instead an extremely effective carpet
cleaning method called Health+Clean. It is not common in the least.
And weve made it even more so because weve spent the last
three decades improving it. We can now honestly state that youll
not get the same cleaning Tonys Best Way gives you from any
other carpet cleaning company in San Diego or -anywhere else for
that matter! Were one of a kind.
We have studied the end results of all three of these carpet
cleaning methods. The Health+Clean method produces cleaning results
that far surpass the others. We know our customers are not
interested in cleaning their carpets for cleanings sake. They
want their carpets as clean as possible. Thats what we are after
too.
When you compare Steam Cleaning (hot water extraction) and Chem-Dry® (dry carpet cleaning) to our method, Health+Clean, youll start
to see right away how our procedure produces, by far, the cleanest
carpets of the three. And not only do the cleanest carpets look the
best, they stay clean the longest too. And when carpets are
sanitized when they are cleaned, as our signature Health+Clean
method does, this service is also an investment in your health.
Overall, youre looking at the best and longest lasting cleaning
results when you hire Tonys Best Way to clean your
carpets.
Let us examine all three methods one by one. Lets start with the
dry carpet cleaning method. The franchise Chem-Dry® is the most
common dry carpet cleaner in the USA. We will allow that carpets do
dry very fast after their procedure. But unfortunately, in our
professional opinion, that is the just about only thing the
carbonation method has going for it. We know this by experience.
Weve been called upon numerous times to clean carpets that had
just been "cleaned" by Chem-Dry®. This has allowed us to see
firsthand the wanting results the procedure produces. Speedily
dried carpets alone didnt satisfy these customers that
consequently switched over to using the Health+Clean method. They
wanted dry carpets, yes. But more importantly, they wanted dry,
clean carpets!
Based on the results hes seen as he cleaned up after Chem-Dry® countless times through the years, Tony thinks of the process as a
surface-only cleaning. A surface-only cleaning is a cleaning
in which only the top few centimeters of carpet are cleaned. The
majority of the soil remains. When the carpet is normally used by
the client, the walking action dredges up this soil from below the
surface. In a matter of only days the carpet can look exactly as it
did before the procedure.
What are my options if I decide Chem-Dry® is not what I am looking for?
The only other option is steam cleaning. For the majority of consumers, that is. This is because the overwhelming majority of carpet cleaning companies, including the truck-mounted variety, use the steam cleaning method (also known more accurately as "hot water extraction"). The carpet cleaning service market is dominated by this one method and consumers suffer for it. It comes as no surprise that we at Tonys Best Way do not use this method. After this explanation on why steam cleaning is not the best for your carpet, we will be happy to explain all about our innovative and ultra-effective Health+Clean cleaning method.
"Hot Water Extraction" AKA "Steam Cleaning" means your carpet will be, literally, in hot water!
If Chem-Dry® is all the way to the left of the moisture bar; then steam cleaning is all the way to the right. Steam cleaners actually don't use steam as their main source of moisture -what they really use is lots and lots of hot water. Reading about the disadvantages to such a procedure will make it very easy to understand why you should think twice about using it:
Steam Cleaning Disadvantages
There is no physical agitation, so it relies on chemical reactions
and on hot and carpet-damaging water pressure to dislodge
soil
When faced with heavily-soiled carpet, steam cleaners have to use
harsher chemicals to be able to dislodge packed soil. Heavy
chemicals are obviously more dangerous to our health. Plus many of
these chemicals can remain in the carpet as sticky soil-attracting
residue. This obviously speeds up re-soiling
Steam cleanings extreme water pressure forces soil under the
carpets surface. This can leave the top inch or so of carpet
clean but that wont last. Carpet fiber threads catch soil very
effectively. A good amount of soil remains trapped at the bottom of
the carpet even as the Steam Cleaner attempts to suction the watery
mess out. Soil clings to the lower levels of the fibers while the
very top gets the cleanest. However, the soil left at the bottom of
the carpet will simply wick back to the carpets surface with
daily use, -leaving you with soiled carpeting all over again. [OR:
When carpet is simply walked on afterward it will dredge up the
water-pushed-down soil -leaving you with soiled carpeting all over
again. OR: As the carpet dries and is being used, this soil
gradually, in the next two weeks or so, surfaces in the
carpet.*].
They use a continuous water supply as they work, which is far, far
too much moisture for carpets. They consequently will get
damaged.
The water they use is hot, which can damage carpet fibers and
padding even more.
Hose water contains a lot of salt and minerals, especially our hard
water in San Diego. The water will eventually evaporate but will
leave fiber-damaging salt and minerals in your carpet. And the more
water that is used in the cleaning process, the more residue will
be left in the carpet. This in turn, gives carpet a duller
appearance and contributes to a faster re-soiling rate.
Excessive amounts of water can lead to mold growth and bacterium
farms- even though they are out of sight. This is not good news for
people who want to their homes to be as healthy as possible!
Too little soiled water is removed during the Steam Cleaners
recovery step. That is why Steam Cleaners use high-powered fans
afterward or leave carpets very wet. When soiled water is left in
carpets, (whether they dry it or not) both soil and the salt and
minerals are also necessarily left behind.
Frequent steam cleanings can damage carpets. Normally the more
times you maintain your investments the longer they last you.
Unfortunately, the effect of using excessive and forceful hot water
and harsh chemicals on fiber as often as steam cleaners recommend
can include: flattened carpets, decreased elasticity and grip,
deterioration (rotting) of carpet backing and carpet buckling.
Applying pressurized water to carpet fibers is actually very much
like applying a machete to a fibrous rope. The more times you
subject your carpet investment to hot heavy pressurized water, the
more damage results. There is another downside as well. The
resulting cracks and frayed carpet fibers become hidey holes that
sticky soil attractants just love to collect in. When soil attaches
to these attractants, it leaves carpet tougher than ever to clean.
The more times carpet is subjected to such damaging treatment, the
shorter its life span and the faster it will re-soil.
Beware steam cleaners that say they use only green products. Green
products and hot mineral-laden water cleaning are simply not going
to give you good cleaning results. Especially since hardly any
agitation is used in the steam cleaning process to begin with. We
offer green products as well, but our unique non-steam, good
agitation method delivers far better results. Green is good; green
and clean is far better!
There are hundreds of different ways to steam clean and all produce
varying results. However, the main reason some steam cleaners are
better than others is because some will spend more time removing
more of the water they spray into carpets. But its crucial to
note that the very cleaning principles behind the Steam Cleaning
procedure demonstrate that its not a very effective cleaning
process -nor a respectful way to treat valuable carpeting!
"Consider how steam cleaning works, says carpet pro Vern Penrod,
First, it relies on chemical reactions to break the soil loose
from the carpet fibers, there is no scrubbing action. The soil that
is broken loose is driven deep into the carpet and padding under
high water pressure. Steam cleaners would have us believe that they
removed the dirt. But that would mean that they somehow managed to
extract the dirty water and leave only clean water in the carpet.
Beside the soil left in the carpet, there is also a tremendous
amount of harsh chemicals may be left in and under the carpet.
After steam cleaning is done, and after the carpet is finally dry,
you will notice the carpet is "crunchy" when you walk on it in your
bare feet. This condition is caused by leftover waste and chemical
residue that will also collect dirt and cause soiling much
faster.
Excessive moisture, little physical agitation, hot water, damaging
water pressure strength, heavy chemicals. These tools Steam
Cleaners use are simply not the best way to clean interior
carpeting! In contrast, our cleaning associations newsletter had
this to say about our method, We all know we have the best
method in the world for cleaning carpets. I simply cannot picture a
more effective mechanical principle in my mind.

But you want to know details. First off, let me explain what
were dealing with when we set out to clean the typical dirty
carpet. It will help you understand why our cleaning produces
outstanding results time after time.
Carpets dont get soiled all in one day. Soiling is just a
natural consequence of daily use. The troublesome dirty patches and
traffic lanes in carpets remains and grow in density/darkness even
if they are vacuumed regularly. This is because the soil in them is
no longer loose. It is firmly bonded to carpet fibers. How?, you
may ask. The sugar and oil present in your carpet are the real
reason why youre dealing with persistent traffic lanes and black
spots. ( In addition to gummy atmospheric pollutants that have
settled into your carpet, such as automobile fumes that waft in
from outside)
But where did the sugar and oil come from?
Sugar is in many items that can come in contact with carpets: drops
of spilled coffee, milk, or crushed crackers are all examples.
However oil is the worst carpet offender of the two soil
attractants.
It is not necessary to spill oil directly on your carpet for it to
find its way into your carpets. Just flipping pancakes on your
stove top (or cooking anything containing butter or oil) produces a
fine misty oil that settles into all surrounding surfaces
-including carpets. But the main cause of oil in carpeting is body
oil. Walking barefoot is the worst offender. Pet body oil is also a
major source of oil in carpeting. Every time a pet lies on
carpeting they leave their body oil behind. Worst of all is if you
burn candles in your home.
Dirt and dust particles from normal home use attach themselves to
this oil and create stubbornly dingy, unsightly carpet.
Oil and sugar are the main dirt and lint attractant in your carpet,
but they are not the only ones. For example, residue of sprays used
for cleaning and grooming also accumulate slowly in carpets.
But believe it or not, this collection that carpet
accumulates is not actually an all-bad phenomenon. By acting as a
catch-and-hold-all, carpets are splendid air filters. They keep all
sorts of dirt and gunk out of your lungs. But all filters, even
great ones, need to be cleaned eventually. Cogged air filters are
non-effective, unsightly and will no longer catch soil.
When you understand that soil bonds to the oil/sugar in your
carpet, its natural to see that it will take a good cleaning to
take not only the soil out, but also to dissolve and remove the
sticky materials that have collected them in the first place.
Dont settle for carpet cleaners who remove only some of the dirt
and glue accumulation. You shouldnt be satisfied with seeing
dirty water in a tube being extracted from your carpets by a steam
cleaner. The real question is was
What you want is a cleaning that removes soil attractants (the
sugar, the oil, the sprays) as well as the soil. We at Tonys
Best Way offer you that cleaning with Health+Clean!
Health+Cleans 5 Pre-Cleaning Steps
Its funny but preparing homes to clean carpets can often take us
much longer than the actual cleaning process! That just goes to
show you how through we are -and how serious we take our
cleaning.
1. We move most furniture and breakable objects. We actually carry
smaller room furnishings to other parts of the home so that we have
access to the carpet beneath them. We dont simply clean around
more substantial furnishings such as couches either. We move them
back a few feet in order to clean underneath them before returning
them to their original place, taking care to slip carpet protectors
under their feet as necessary. We are willing to go to great
lengths to give you the most through carpet cleaning
possible.
2. After we take care of the furnishings in the room we are about
to clean, we scan the entire area for loose soil. When we find it
we will then proceed to professionally vacuum and even sweep out
corners and sides by hand to further prepare the room for
cleaning.
3. Then we use our specially mixed Tonys Best Way wonder
solution. This solution is the first major, extra-ordinary weapon
we use on your carpet. Its contents are actually tailored for your
needs. Say your carpet is made of a tricky-to-clean material or has
peculiar staining, is very heavily soiled or that you prefer no
chemicals to be used. We take all that into account when we
customize our cleansing solution right in your home or
business.
4. We spray this on the carpet; and agitate as needed to break up
the soil-oil-sugar bonds in preparation for the actual
cleaning.
5. We take special care to apply a special solution to oil
staining. It dissolves oil on contact. In case of other types of
special soiling, we have an arsenal of supplies we can choose from
to apply at this point. We do not use one product for all carpets.
We tailor our cleaning solutions to what will clean your particular
carpet and your specific stains the best. This is not the easiest
way to clean carpets, but it yields the best results.
Only after all of the above takes place do we begin our actual
cleaning!
Health+Cleans Cleaning Procedure
The Actual Procedure of Our Superior Cleaning
Method
Instead of soaking carpets with a continuous water supply, we hand
pour a small amount of hot water into our machines along with our
cleaning solution. Our machines actually takes this small amount of
moisture and generates a generous output of foam from this
mix.
This foam is Best Ways second major, extra-ordinary weapon we
use to get carpets really clean. It is outstanding. Its a grime,
dander and dirt magnet. More precisely, its a sugar, oil and
soil magnet. We use it in place of water in our cleaning
procedure.
Far superior to water or powder, foam has many
advantages:
- Instead of being heavy and damaging, foam is light and gentle on carpet fibers.
- It does contain some moisture, which aids cleaning greatly. However it uses only the minimum amount needed. Its low-water content ensures it wont soak your carpet padding, will not take as long to dry, nor will it damage carpet as using water would do. In fact, if you would scoop up some it in your hand, turn it upside down and shake it, it wouldnt budge. It is that light and dry.
- Foam also has the advantages of being both amorphous and solid. It covers the surface of carpet and the layers below it. It does not sink immediately into the bottom of carpeting as heavy water does.
The machine that creates the foam also releases it into carpeting
in an action that looks like reverse vacuuming. And as it injects
the light foam into carpet, it does so gently. It does not force
the foam into carpet at high pressure. There is a soft cylinder
brush situated where the machine delivers the foam. This brush is
our third weapon in our war again the soil found in your
carpeting.
The brush is designed to be very gentle on carpet fibers and yet
its 150,000 very dense bristles work together to deliver a powerful
punch to soil. The foam is deposited onto the carpet in front of
the brush, which continually turns in a forward motion. It is by
the brushs movement that the foam is carried down past the
carpets surface, heading directly to the backload of dirt found
below and stopping only at the carpets backing. The foam does
not soak the padding. As the foam travels downward, the powerful
brush heads numerous bristles surround each little carpet fiber,
physically separating all clinging soil. At the same time the foam
also covers each little fiber. The soil that the brush separates
from each fiber goes right into the absorbent foam. The soil comes
out much easier because, as you remember, we applied our powerful
custom-mixed-to-your-carpet wonder solution in the pre-cleaning
stage. It had already broken the oily, sugary soils persistent
hold on the carpet fibers, so that the brushs action knocked
them loose.
We consider cleaning to be the removal of soil, so it is only now
that we deem carpets ready to be cleaned! After the foam collects
the now-loose soil, the soil extraction, the cleaning, begins.
Starting at the bottom of the carpet and working its way up, our
specialty machine thoroughly extracts the oily, sugary, dirty foam
from every level of carpet. As the brush moves in an upward motion,
it carries the now-dirt laden foam to the surface. Powerful suction
takes the foam into the built-in recovery tank. A de-foaming agent
we place in the recovery tank condenses the suds into dirty
water.
Our machine thoroughly remove both dirt and suds from your carpet,
leaving very clean carpets in its wake. You can see that the
combination of using only a minimal amount of water and injecting
and thoroughly removing light foam, leads to very little residue
and water being left in carpets. And you can imagine the results
such a cleaning accomplishes.
Weve restored carpets that were going to be torn out if our
method didnt produce miraculous cleaning results! Weve
actually cleaned carpets on the very same day other cleaners
cleaned them. Why? Because the outcome of their work was simply not
satisfactory. Weve had countless first-time customers who just
cannot believe how clean their carpets and furniture are after
were finished.
Your carpet will be as clean as can be after our cleaning. And it
will not be damaged in the process! Health+Clean is a far superior
cleaning than other methods can offer. Also because the soil in
your carpet was so thoroughly removed, your carpet will stays
cleaner for much longer. You will save time and money by needing to
clean them less often. Quality cleaning doesnt cost; it
pays!
The old saying "The proof of (the goodness of) the pudding is in
the eating" is true. It is also true that the proof of the
effectiveness of cleaning methods is in the results. View our free
cleaning demonstration on your own carpet and judge for yourself if
we have results on our side. Were not Steam or Chem-Dry®. Were
the other option. Were Tonys Best Way.
What Health+Clean does for your health:
Our through, one-of-a-kind cleaning is not just a cleaning
-its a sickness and allergy-relief service!
According to Dr. Edward Kenny of the York Research Laboratory,
carpets and rugs test approximately 20 times more soiled than the
average city sidewalk. IN addition, the soil in your carpets
contains more of a variety of contaminants than you might think. In
addition to dust and bits of soil from shoes and from pet paws, it
can contain a whole jungle of materials. This includes: tiny
particles of cooking fumes, household sprays, mold spores, germs,
dust mites and their feces. Also pollutants from the outside like
automobile fumes, smog, salty air, etc.
Because they are protected from the sterilizing sun, dust mites
flourish inside of our homes. They find ample food in human skin
slough and pet dander. Two places dust mites live in the home are
in our furniture and in our carpets.
Unfortunately their large presence means their droppings (as well
as the germs that feed on them) are also present in large numbers
right inside our homes. Symptoms of allergies to dust mite
droppings include: sneezing, itching tearing eyes, nasal and ear
stuffiness, runny nose, respiratory problems, and atopic
dermatitis. Even dogs can suffer skin conditions as a result of
dust mite allergens.
When carpets are dirty they are filled not only with soil but with
billions of well-fed germs and dust mites. When you hire a carpet
cleaner who only removes part of the soil, obviously he removes
only part of these unhealthy contaminates as well. New soil will
then collect on top of the old, (now-watered) soil. Bacteria, mold
and germs only thrive the more in moist, soiled environments.
Our fantastic Health+Clean cleaning removes this jungle of filth.
In addition, we also add our a Tonys Best Way exclusive
property, Hypo-oxygen, into our already fantastic foam. It is a
non-toxic and carpet-safe sanitizing agent that works extremely
well. Our Hypo-oxygen sanitizer is Tonys Best Ways 4th
ultimate weapon in the war to get your carpets extraordinarily
clean.
We include the sanitizer because we don't just clean for the
top-notch appearance of your carpets; we also clean for your
health.
Think about air particles like pet dander and skin follicles-the
food for dust mites and germs-layering themselves day after day on
your carpet. Carpet acts as a filter; it holds these things
inside.
Think about the tiny mold particles also found in carpet.
Think about all these being released into your family's breathing
space whenever you and your family members step on your
carpets.
Now, picture all this garbage being pinned to the ground and
absorbed into our mean sanitizing foam.
This is possible because:
1.The oil and sugar molecule bonds that held them to carpet fibers
were broken under the strain of fighting our highly effective
cleansers.
2. In addition, the forward brush action of our machine gently
agitates the foam-covered carpet fibers, which further breaks down
oil and sugar chains.
After this process, we then whisk the now-soiled foam right out of
the carpet. As we extract this collection of oil/sugar and soil
particles, we also extract germs and dust mites along with their
food: pet/human dander and skin follicles.
Even the tiny remainder in carpets are not left to continue on as
before- the sanitizing process goes on to powerfully kill them.
Listen close, you can actually hear a popping sound as the
sanitizer does its work after our machine passes by. We know you
want the germs and dust mites that can harm you, your children and
your pets dead. We want the same thing. Were Tonys Best Way
and WE TRULY WANT YOUR CARPETS TRULY CLEAN!
Why We Don't Use the Popular Steam Cleaning Method
Tony's Best Way utilizes a rare and extremely effective carpet cleaning method deemed Hot Dry Foam Extraction . One of you, our valued clients, stated that dry foam extraction is a joy after years of sloppy wet steam cleaning.
As that happy customer found out, we don't use gallons of heavy hose water as our base cleaner. But that is exactly what the steam cleaning (truck mounted & otherwise) companies you see advertised everywhere do use.
Why? It doesn't work very well; they can't possibly vacuum out all the water they pump in. Water is heavy; it sinks to the floorboards. The damage to the carpet pad and carpet fibers increases after each treatment. Steam cleaners might get the top inch of your carpet wet and dry, but what about the rest? When you start to walk on the carpet again, watch and see the dirt dredging up from below. Indoor mold thrives on the main cleaning ingredient in steam cleaning lots and lots of water which will soon be crawling with bacterium to boot.
And people pay for this? And it remains the number one method used?
The reason is simple water is cheap! For the steam cleaner, that is. The poor consumer is left behind to pay beyond what they saved by buying water to clean their carpets. Actually steam cleaners don't even use their own water guess whose water they use! No wonder it's easy for unknowledgeable steam cleaners to charge ridiculously low prices. You get what you pay for, so save your money and use us again!
What Cleaning Method Does Best Way Use?
From experience, it is true you need some moisture to clean. We just use a fraction of it all we need in the form of hot foam. Then a quality cylindrical brush is used to deep clean your carpet all the way down to the base fibers. We then use a powerful sealed vacuum to thoroughly extract the foam, which has now collected dirt and other material at ever level of each carpet fiber.
This makes for very clean carpets! And for happy customers like yourself!

Why Best Way Outperforms [Certified Document]

Here's How it Works

Why You Should Choose a Quality Tonys Best Way Cleaning
Family Run Business, Serving San Diego since 1971, 1000s of Happy Clients
From the start, we decided that we needed to be of a higher quality than our competition. There are many dime a dozen cleaners out there, but not many who put good cleaning results and true value first. We did not want to be forced to use minimum wage laborers or cheap methods and products to be able to compete with their cut-rate prices. Instead, we decided our niche in San Diego would be high quality cleaning that is truly worth the price. As the saying goes, The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten
So we researched all the cleaning methods and other professional options available in our field. Then we went to school and learned. We also attended many seminars and conventions. Throughout our information-gathering quest, we discussed our findings and often sat down to do our homework.
We are committed to:
1. Be honest and above-board in this endeavor. (Actually, we were
already committed to this in all areas of our lives as it is one of
our Christian standards.)
2. Give the best results possible by using the best cleaning
methods.
3. Give full service and not cut corners (figuratively or
literally).
We believe following the above will mutually benefit both us and our customers. You will not be disappointed with our work. We guarantee that with concrete proof even before you need to commit yourself to a cleaning. How? As stated in the bullet list below, we offer free, in-home demonstrations of our carpet, rug, drapery, hardwood, tile, grout and stone floor services. (hyperlinks)
For absolutely no charge or obligation, we will clean a small section of the most soiled area of your carpet, stone or tile floor, cloth or leather furniture, or window covering. If you are not completely convinced we offer the most value for the investment, we will leave without charge.
We are convinced youll like our work. Weve offered San Diego the Best Way for 38 years which proves to us there is a market in catering to those who really want to maintain their home investments and who value their health.
HOW LONG WILL IT BE WET?
Most carpets and furniture dry within an hour to ten hours. The average is six hours. However, the exact length of time it takes your carpets to dry depends on several conditions. Such as:
- The kind of fabric/fibers it is composed of
- How soiled it was before we cleaned
- What it was soiled with before we cleaned
- How fast the carpet fibers responded to treatment
- How delicate your carpet is
- The thickness or thinness of your carpet
- The way your carpet holds moisture
- How ventilated the area is/How good the air movement is
Before Best Way cleans we do a great job of pre-treating. This breaks up the oil. We then use a Best Way exclusive formula that softens up the very soil imbedded in your carpet or furniture. How much we use depends on the condition of your carpet or furniture. The more soiled the item, the more moisture. The more moisture: the longer drying time.
Keeping this in mind, we may have to re-clean heavily soiled areas perhaps 10 times more than usual. This, obviously, adds more moisture that will take longer to dry.
We assume your first priority is to have us clean your carpet and furniture as well as humanly possible, even at the risk of them taking longer to dry.
Secondly, we use a super low moisture content dry foam extraction method. Not tons of hot water that harms your carpet while taking forever to dry. Only low moisture foam.
Keep the air temperature at 70 or above and the carpet/furniture will dry nicely. A house kept at 60 or under will hold moisture in, so it will take the carpet longer to dry.
Do increase the air movement as much as possible. Leave windows and doors open!
Please remember these tips and look forward to taking full advantage of your fluffy, clean and healthy carpet soon!
NOW THAT THEY ARE CLEAN
HINTS TO KEEP YOUR CARPETING CLEAN AND FRESH LONGER
- Vacuum carpeting as often as possible. (Minimum: vacuum heavily used traffic lanes at least once a week)
- Walk barefoot as little as possible on carpeting. There is a myth floating around that bare feet are better to a carpet than shoes. This is only true if the shoes are dirty. Body oil on feet stains carpeting far worse than powdery dirt. Clean socks and house slippers are excellent for this reason.
- Clean up any spills, accidents, and spots as soon as they are made. For stubborn stains, please call us first. For less serious stains, keep in mind time will set them so clean them up immediately! Select stores carry our spotter for your convenience, or if you prefer, we can ship it directly to you. However, you need never buy it again if you take a trip to our La Jolla location to refill the bottle we left with you. All current customers (last service performed within 2 years) can refill their bottomless bottle with our complements. Call us to set up a convenient time for you to come by.
- Use clean doormats at every entrance into your home (replace with new or cleaned ones at least once a month). A dirty doormat is worse than none at all.
- Keep all hard indoor surfaces in your home clean. Mop tile frequently with a very mild solution. Call us for instruction on how to care for stone or hardwood. Cleaning removes oil deposits caused by cooking and other atmospheric pollutants. Any soil not cleaned up on these hard floors will end up on your newly cleaned carpet. Be aware of this and clean all floors often! Keep in mind Tony's Best Way offers professional cleaning for hardwood, stone, tile and other hard flooring. We also re-seal tile and stone, and offer complete stone restoration.
- Garage floors and outside walkways have a habit of getting dirty and guess where that gunk ends up? Yes, right on your carpets, again! You must really pay attention to this because the mess tracked onto your carpets from the garage and outside is often more difficult to get out than any others. This is where most of the oil soil in your carpet likely originated.
- Make an effort to use a strong degreaser on these areas. Work it in, scrub it with an outside broom, and hose it down. Do this fairly regularly. As often as you mow your grass at least. If you do this, your clean carpets will last longer than you think they can. It's worth the effort for most people who simply don't think about the outside and garage gunk at all.
If you are serious about clean carpets, the above hints will prove to be invaluable. With the extra care exercised, you will enjoy the like-new condition of your carpeting much longer!
How Often Should My Carpeting Be Cleaned?
If you would like to keep your carpet in like-new condition, we recommend a complete cleaning once every two years. If you have pets, children, have a home business or if you smoke, we recommend one complete cleaning each year.
Average carpets that go a year without a through cleaning are ten times more unsanitary then the average city sidewalk! Carpets act as filters and they hold unhealthy things like:
- Dust mites & their feces (food for germs, bacteria & mold)
- Dead skin particles
- Many types of bacteria
- Chemicals
- Auto fumes
These Atmospheric Pollutants are only some of the things that are potentially in that un-cleaned "for just one year carpet! Furthermore, whenever you step on carpet or sit on that similarly un-cleaned couch, clouds of Atmospheric Pollutants rise and then you actually inhale them! If a normal person's body reacts strongly to these horrible bits what must the body of an allergic person go through? Makes you think, huh? Small adults, children and pets (which are closer to the floor) are more affected because, obviously, they are closer to this soup of pollutants. Think of crawling babies!
So, shouldn't the answer be hard surfaced floors instead of carpeting? Wouldn't that be healthier?
Not really!
Remember, unlike hard flooring, carpet acts as an air filter. And it's a very good filter at that. Yet the time comes when all filters fills up and then dust settles on top. Now, would you rather have that stuff on the floor or floating around your breathing space? Well, I bet you'd say Having dust on the floor is better than the open air!
You'd be right because without carpeting, your indoor air would be much more contaminated with the pollutants never settling. Do you know a single person looses 1,000,000's of skin sloth particles a day? How many people live in your house? Yuck. Plus, those horrible tiny dust mites let out their even tinnier disgusting feces by the tens of millions on a regular basis!
Rather than do away with the beneficial carpeting, be sure to have Best Way clean them regularly. With the maintenance program Best Way offers, you will be sure to keep your carpets clean all year long!
The cleaning will flush out all those pollutants. It will essentially clean out that carpet filter restoring your carpet to like-new condition!
We even use a non-toxic sanitizer in our super cleaning method that KILLS microscopic organisms hiding in your carpet! What other carpet cleaning company would go so far to eliminate things you can't even see? You can be sure we won't lightly surface clean like so many other cleaners.
Imagine that pollutant jungle under a powerful microscope. Imagine them polluting you and your family. Now, imagine a house free of that microscopic universe. Nice, isn't it?
That can be the reality for your home! Don't ignore this information. It could mean preventing allergy aggravation and maybe even airborne diseases and sicknesses! Isn't that worth it?
Clean your carpets and furniture regularly. If you won't do it for the restoration of your carpet and furniture to its like-new condition, to its original luxurious fluffiness, do it for you and your family's health!
7 Helpful Hints for Clean Carpets
1. Vacuum carpets daily . Yes, daily! If this task is too bothersome, purchase a robotic vacuum cleaner to do the job for you. Vacuuming prevents soil from bonding to fibers, and keeps them from sinking down to the base of your carpet. There are lots of good vacuums out there. Tony recommends the Miele canister vacuum from Germany . It has a strong pickup and a three-stage filter. It's almost fun to use and it's versatile. You can use it for carpets, hard floors, upholstery and drapes.
2. Make sure all hard surfaces (tile, wood, slate and marble) are cleaned daily or weekly . Pay close attention to the hard flooring in home entrances and kitchen and garage areas. This is important. You will not have clean carpets if your hard surfaces are filthy. To test these surfaces for soil, place a small amount of cleaner on a towel and wipe. This will show you what is being tracked onto your carpet. Tony's Best Way offers professional stone, tile, slate and marble cleaning for annual or biannual cleanings. In the meantime, washing down outside areas with a power washer will help keep soil from building up.
3. Make sure no one uses outside shoes or bare feet on your carpet . Post a No shoes tradition observed sign and offer guests slippers. Shoes track in a lot of soil -especially if they see asphalt regularly. Going barefoot means you are injecting body oil into carpets. Soil clings to oil and oil clings to carpet fibers. Body oil can permanently stain carpets if given enough time. Slippers or socks worn need to be worn at all times.
4. Place clean mats in entrance areas, around dressers, in bathrooms, and other heavily used areas. Tony recommends purchasing extras. Replace or clean mats as necessary.
5. Consider keeping pet assessable areas separated from carpeted areas. Dogs especially are very hard on carpet. This is a hard one if your pet is considered a family member, however dog fur contains a great deal of sticky body oil. When they lie down or even just shed, this oil will end up in your carpet. Of course pets that are not housebroken or who are sick can challenge your carpets cleanliness as well. Consider setting up barriers to carpeted areas if keeping your carpet cleaner longer is important to you.
6. Never use cheap carpet cleaners. And never ever use do-it-yourself carpet machines. Cheap carpet cleaners are in a hurry to throw some things around, get paid and leave. They usually call themselves steam cleaners and soak your carpets with lots of water. Even worse than that most use cheap, rough sticky soaps or solutions that can really DAMAGE carpet fibers. Damaged carpet fibers are cracked and soil just loves to hang out in cracks. Do-it-yourself carpet machines are even worse. Tony says he can almost always tell which homes are subjected to such abuse. They sport black stripes down hallways and other highly-used areas. If you insist on supplementing our quality cleaning with such cleaners or do-it-yourself machines, insist on plain water being used. It certainly will not clean half as well (or last as long) as our method, but at least there will be less damage and no chance of sticky residue. Sticky soap residue left by inferior cleaners will assuredly and severely shorten the life of your carpet investment.
7. Only use Tony's Best Way instant carpet cleaner to get out everyday stains . Our formula is top notch. Former San Diegan customers have called us and ordered bottles of it for many years now because they can't get it anywhere else. Use of inferior products can set stains, change the chemical composition of stains (which make them harder to clean), and some even bleach carpet!
We hope that you will find these tips helpful and that you
remember us at Tony's Best Way when your carpet, rugs, furniture,
hard floors and drapes are in need of powerful and through
